A NEW INITIATIVE IN RECORDING OUR HISTORY.
A NEW INITIATIVE IN RECORDING OUR HISTORY.
Let's
admit it,we Indian Y's Men are utterly poor in recording our history.
There may be so many reasons for that including the absence
of permanent offices. However, we need to preserve our history. We
generate much literature each year at all levels from the club to the
Area. Unfortunately, we don't have a mechanism to preserve
it. The coming generations would be searching in the dark if we do not
preserve our history.
Y's
Men International is committed to the preservation of records. There
are limitations to documentation and preservation at the Area level. YMI
has suggested that Areas should strive to preserve its records at the
Area level . There is a new found enthusiasm today . The ISD Historian
and our ASD Historian are committed to this project.
Ym.SS
Tyagarajan (PRD & ASD) is taking a fresh and powerful initiative to
motivate Clubs, Districts , Regions and the Area itself to preserve
historical documents. The ISD & the ASD have brought out very
relevant guidelines. Let us hope that the leadership at all levels will
respond postively.
The
communication from Ym.SS Tyagarajan is shown below for your urgent
response and action. It would be most welcome to have historians at all
levels who are committed to recording and forwarding the history to the
RSD & ASD concerned. Ym.SS.Tyagarajan ASD is also ready to
provide any clarification on the matter related to
history.
Y's regards.
Philip Thengumcheril (ASD-PR)
